AWE is looking to hire a CAD Support Engineer to implement and provide guidance and support for the development of a number of wide ranging, technically challenging weapons-based projects. This role will be based within our Applications team in our Information Services business unit.
Location – Reading/Basingstoke
Salary – up to £45,000

Key Accountabilities:
- Planning and execution of tasks to deliver specific agreed objectives on time; demonstrating control and accountability of cost and quality.
- Progress Model Based Engineering Applications and Product Lifecycle Management tools to support CAD/CAM/CMM
- Resolution of significant issues.
- Maintain and promote high personal standards in Environment, Safety, Health, Security and Quality and be a great team player.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing specialised technical support to the Teamcenter user community, in particular, focussing on improving efficiencies and capabilities of the current toolset.
- Provide technical expertise in CAD/CAM/CMM software applications (configuration, tuning and customisation).
- Understand user requirements and business needs.
- Troubleshoot and develop Model Based Engineering Applications and Product Lifecycle Management tools
- Be responsible for diagnosing and following through to resolution any problems, escalating to team members or other teams and vendors when required.
- Identify best practices and promote the use of common standards.
- Responsible for undertaking other duties as reasonably required from time to time by line and task management.
You Will Have:
- Experience in CAD Modelling, Assemblies & Drafting
- Strong communication skills
- Demonstrable experience of working on complex systems with design & post-design services
- 3D CAD knowledge (NX/Teamcenter would be beneficial but other CAD packages would be considered)
