HGV Class 1 Driver

Role Overview & Responsibilities

J&D Pierce Contracts are now offering a great opportunity for an experienced class 1 driver to join our busy transport division. The candidate we are looking for must be an enthusiastic team player and hard working.

As part of our transport team you will be required to transport steel such as standard 25t or abnormal loads and heavy site machinery to various sites across the UK. You will be primarily based at our Glengarnock premises but will also be required to move loads from our East Kilbride Facility also.

What we are looking for in our new team member:

• Confidence in securing loads.
• Hauling long distances to new sites and locations
• Dealing with any issues which may arise on the road and informing management if you require assistance.
• Having Great management of break times and work times.
• Able to follow management instruction.
• Completing daily checks and defects books
• Collating correct paperwork for every load
• Following site safety
• High standard of professionalism when out on the roads dealing with public.
• Lorries kept to high standards inside and outside.

What we can offer you in this job role:

• Competitive hourly rate
• £25 per night out in Lorry
• 42.5 hours per week any hours worked over this paid at time and half.
• Saturday shifts time and half / Sunday shifts double time
• 28 days holiday
• Opportunity to go to truck shows.
